Days of EU in Yerevan


On 1-4 June leading professors from European University at Saint Petersburg gave 30 public lectures during the Days of European University in Yerevan.

For 4 days in different cultural venues and universities of Yerevan discussions on art, economics, philosophy, history, anthropology, sociology and political science were held. Among the venues were American University, Russian-Armenian University, Hetq Media factory, House-Museum of Saryan and many other places. Most of the lectures were held in Mirzoyan Photo Library, a cozy and authentic space on Mher Mkrtchyan Street, which belongs to the famous modern Armenian photographer Karen Mirzoyan.

Professors provided insights on how to read paintings and look at buildings from a different angle, what discoveries in social sciences and humanities can data analysis facilitate. They also discussed inflation and crime rates in Russia and made forecasts, as well as revealed important intellectual and political transformations within the last century.

The lectures were conducted in Russian and English. The Total number of registrations for the lectures was 778 (353 people).

The Days were concluded with an informal gathering where the future of science and education was discussed over a glass of wine
