“Hello, that’s me!” by Frunze Dovlatyan is a masterpiece of modernist cinema not only in Soviet Armenia, but also worldwide. It became one of the only works of the Soviet era presented at the Cannes Film Festival back in 1966, and it is noteworthy that in 2023 it returned to the festival again, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Armenian cinema.
The film is based on real events telling about the achievements of the famous physicist Artyom Manvelyan and his founding of a cosmological laboratory in Armenia. Scientific achievements are combined with Artyom’s memories of World War II, warm and heavy feelings about love and friends lost at the front.
Join the film screening on December 6 at 18:30 at the Yerevan Center for International Education (E-Center, address – Charents St., 31/4). Our guest speaker will be art critic and curator Vigen Galstyan, who will talk about the artistic value of the film, followed by a discussion, questions and answers.
The lecture will be in English, the film — Armenian with English subtitles.
